Saudi Arabia will allow entertainment activities to resume for those who are vaccinated against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) said today Thursday.
The announcement came as the Kingdom begins relaxing restrictions imposed to check the spread of the disease.
Entertainment venues will be allowed to open at 40 percent capacity, it said, as they had previously been halted due to the spread of the pandemic.
GEA said those who have been immunized will be allowed access to entertainment activities according to the Tawakkalna app. The authority added that tickets for all events will be sold online.
At the same time, The Ministry of Health confirmed today Thursday 27 May that 1,183 new confirmed cases reported in the Kingdom in the previous 24 hours, meaning 445,963 people have now contracted the disease.
Of the total number of cases, 10,152 remain active and 1,353 in critical condition.
The health ministry also announced that 1,040 patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 428,502.
